WEEKDAY DISCO | @weekday_disco

WEEKDAY DISCO is a collective of artists, located in Brooklyn NY who focus on curating the curious and interesting. Established on an unknown Monday in early 2022, we’ve been committed to bringing you whacky and insightful performances ever since!

MEGAN MCHUGH | @meganmchughdance

Megan McHugh is a free lance dance artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Megan got her BFA in modern dance and her BA in psychology from the University of Utah, where she graduated in 2022. Much of Megan's artistic interest stems from play through improvisation resulting in a product that blurs the lines between drama and subtlety in movement. She is inspired by writing, drawing, film and other medias that inform her creative process. Megan is interested in how the non-groundbreaking is inherently groundbreaking, and how whimsy invites us to see the world in a different context.

KATIE SPONENBURUG | @katiesponenburg

Katie Sponenburg (she/her) is a contemporary dance artist based in New York. She is a graduate of Barnard College and has performed works by Trisha Brown, Irene Hultman, Jodi Melnick, Dual Rivet, Take Ueyama, and Yoshito Sakuraba. She has presented work at SMUSH Gallery and created new work for Columbia Ballet Collaborative and CoLab Performing Arts Collective as well as participating in student residencies at the Barnard College Movement Lab. Her work often questions mechanization and industrialized productivity practices, seeking discoveries of autonomy and self-identification. She is a lover of water.

ELISA MEYER & JOSH LUNA | @elisam4201

Brooklyn-based contemporary dancers Josh and Elisa forged their artistic partnership through an unlikely connection: a contact improvisation class where they shared a mutual aversion to touching strangers. This shared discomfort sparked a lasting friendship and collaborative journey. Their choreography draws inspiration from their unique bond, playfully exploring themes of friendship, childlike wonder, and the subversion of traditional gender roles.

Lucy Kudlinski | @lucyjvne

Lucy is a freelance movement artist and choreographer based in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up dancing in Phoenix, Arizona, Lucy began studying dance at University of California, San Diego where she danced with Patricia Huerta and Rebecca Chaleff before transferring to Barnard College in New York City. While at Barnard, Lucy studied with Jodi Melnick, Caroline Fermin, and Colleen Thomas-Young, and in works by Chanel DaSilva, Gabrielle Lamb, and Trisha Brown. Lucy’s choreographic work has been presented at the Movement Lab at Barnard and Jacob’s Pillow.
